Worn Bolt on a Weathered Bridge
Long, strong new planks of wood -- shiny new bolts. Loud noises as holes are drilled and the big, bold bolts are crushed into the tough blond planks. A new bridge is built over a creek -- the old one had washed out. Three years later, two photographers stand on the bridge to capture the grace of the rocky, rushing ocean-drawn creek, always new. One glances down at a worn and weathered bolt, melding with the mossy green, roughened bridge. She thinks, they are really together now -- they even look the same.
